Chamber Programs

                         CHAMBER CHRISTMAS FUND

The West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce is pleased to maintain a Christmas Fund made

possible by many generous citizens and businesses who have donated each year to ensure that we

have the resources necessary to let our Christmas town shine!

We have had the privilege of helping to provide our town with Christmas décor and a live Santa

Claus experience complete with a Santa House for many years. It is a project that is always

growing. West Frankfort has been blessed with a talented group of volunteers and dedicated city

employees who physically put our decorations and displays together, maintain and hang our pole

decorations, and keep the lights burning all season.

In 2014, the Chamber purchased a portable building which became the Santa House. For seven

years, we kept the house alive with Santa during the Christmas season. In September 2021, the

West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce donated the house to the city in honor of Kathy Sikora

who had served the Chamber for several years as a volunteer and as Executive Director.

The Santa House and what it stood for was near and dear to her heart.

FUTURE PLANS

The West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce will still be very much involved in helping to

finance Christmas in West Frankfort.

Although the Chamber has purchased many new Christmas trees and pole decorations in the past

several years, it is a costly endeavor so only so much can be replaced at a time. Our garland

candy canes which adorn many poles along our main streets are beginning to look a bit shabby.

We will begin in 2022 to replace these with new decorations that will enrich the sense of a

Winter Wonderland in West Frankfort during the holiday season.

YOUTH FIRST PROGRAM

Support our Youth!

In late 2021, the West Frankfort Chamber of

Commerce began its “Youth First Program” to

grant scholarships to graduating seniors, award

our Seniors of the Month, and recognize our

youth for both academic and non-academic

achievements and community involvement.

This program will primarily be funded through

fundraisers, donations, and sponsorships.

Currently, we have our West Frankfort 62896

T-shirts available for $20 each. T-shirt purchases

help to support this program. To purchase a

T-shirt stop by the Chamber of Commerce office

at 201 E. Nolan St. We are in the same building as the

police and fire departments.
