WF Beautification

West Frankfort Beautification is a volunteer group of people whose mission is to keep the town aesthetically pleasing and welcoming.
Each Spring the group plants an awesome display of downtown foliage and flowers and maintains their beauty throughout the season.
To celebrate the Christmas season, Main Street flower pots and vacant store windows are brilliantly adorned and decorated.
They also keep the 3 downtown parks in bloom.
At the tune of $15,000 a year to keep their work on track, the Beautification team holds sales of mums & spring flowers, hosts several annual Craft & Vendor Fairs, and delivers a delicious pancake breakfast

Historical Museum
OPEN FOR THE SEASON
The museum has sixteen rooms and hallways of artifacts displaying local history.
Visitors can also stop in for a bite to eat at the Red Geranium Tea Room, which serves meals every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a weekly menu special, and fresh pies and cakes are available for desert.
The Genealogy Society is also housed in the museum. Research on the area and on the people of Franklin County is conducted every Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is also a quilting room where visitors can see ladies making quilts by hand on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Frankfort Community Park/Aquatics & Activities Center
Frankfort Community Park offers four playgrounds, a 3 acre pond where fishing is allowed year round, a winding mile long trail to enjoy its beauty, shelters with tables and grills, and two large shelters to rent for special occasions.
The park also boasts two tennis courts, two basketball courts, six baseball fields, two softball fields, tee ball fields and two concession stands plus convenient parking areas.

The gym has basketball courts with four goals.

Seats approximately 250 people. Comfortable chairs, tables, and a spacious kitchen area are provided.
